The effect of ambient temperature and barometric pressure on ambulatory blood pressure variability.
BACKGROUND The effect of ambient temperature on cardiovascular disease has previously been studied. Less known are the effects of climate on blood pressure (BP) regulation, specifically, the role of temperature on BP variability. METHODS We investigated the effect of temperature and barometric pressure on ambulatory BP variability in 333 men and women with above-optimal BP or stage 1 hyperten...
متن کاملeffect of oral presentation on development of l2 learners grammar
this experimental study has been conducted to test the effect of oral presentation on the development of l2 learners grammar. but this oral presentation is not merely a deductive instruction of grammatical points, in this presentation two hypotheses of krashen (input and low filter hypotheses), stevicks viewpoints on grammar explanation and correction and widdowsons opinion on limited use of l1...
15 صفحه اولRoom temperature water Leidenfrost droplets.
We experimentally investigate the Leidenfrost effect at pressures ranging from 1 to 0.05 atmospheric pressure. As a direct consequence of the Clausius–Clapeyron phase diagram of water, the droplet temperature can be at ambient temperature in a non-sophisticated lab environment. Furthermore, the lifetime of the Leidenfrost droplet is significantly increased in this low pressure environment. The ...
متن کاملEffect of hydrostatic pressure on the ambient pressure superconductor CePt3Si
We studied the evolution of superconductivity (sc) and antiferromagnetism (afm) in the heavy fermion compound CePt3Si with hydrostatic pressure. We present a pressure-temperature phase diagram established by electrical transport measurements. Pressure shifts the superconducting transition temperature, Tc, to lower temperatures. Antiferromagnetism is suppressed at a critical pressure Pc ≈ 0.5 GPa.
متن کاملThe effect of ambient pressure on laser-induced silicon plasma temperature, density and morphology
Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) of silicon was performed using a nanosecond pulsed frequency doubled Nd:YAG (532 nm) laser. The temporal evolution of the laser ablation plumes was characterized under a range of low pressures. Electron densities were determined from the Stark broadening of the Si (I) 288.16 nm emission line and were found to be in the range 2.79 × 10 cm to 5.59 × 10 ...
